Spacing.

When there are gaps between teeth

Spacing describes gaps between teeth. Tooth size, missing teeth, and the relationship between the teeth and jaws can all be part of the picture.

A closer look

Understanding
spacing.

Gaps between teeth can have different causes, including differences in tooth size, missing teeth, or the way teeth are positioned in the arch. A visible space is only one part of the overall bite.

Dr. Peralta can assess the pattern of spaces and explain whether orthodontic care, coordination with another dental provider, or monitoring is appropriate.

What an evaluation considers

The image above shows one patient example. Your own examination determines what is relevant to you.

  1. 01

Which spaces matter clinically and which are primarily a personal concern?

  2. 02

Are any teeth missing or unusually small?

  3. 03

How would closing or managing spaces affect the bite?

A question worth
bringing in.

“What is creating these gaps, and what would need to happen before or after orthodontic care?”

Dr. Peralta can review your teeth and bite and explain whether treatment is recommended, what approaches may fit, and what to expect.
