Open bite.

When teeth do not meet

An open bite describes a gap between opposing teeth when other teeth are biting together. An evaluation looks at where the gap occurs and what may be contributing to it.

Understanding
open bite.

An open bite describes a space between opposing teeth when other teeth are biting together. The gap may appear toward the front or elsewhere in the bite.

An orthodontic assessment considers tooth positions, jaw relationships, and habits or other factors that may be relevant. The plan depends on those findings.

Where do the upper and lower teeth fail to meet?

  2. 02

Are habits or growth part of the picture?

  3. 03

Which treatment options address the underlying concern?
